Jacksonville, FL. – 121 Financial Credit Union (121 Financial) presented the Florida Small Business Development Center at the University of North Florida (FSBDC at UNF) with a $7,500 check last week at the 24th Annual Small Business Week Celebration held at the University of North Florida.

The FSBDC at UNF provides management assistance and training to any prospective or existing small- business owner in North Florida. Since 2012, the FSBDC at UNF has provided training and consulting on a full-time basis to small businesses in Putnam County. The Putnam County Small Business Development Center (SBDC) is a full-service office made possible through local matching dollars.

“When these dollars came up short and the future of the Putnam County SBDC was in jeopardy, 121 stepped up and provided this generous donation to keep small business assistance available on a full- time basis. We can’t thank 121 enough for its support of small business lending and of the FSBDC in Putnam County,” said Janice Donaldson, Director at FSBDC at UNF.

According to Donaldson, 121 Financial has been key in the funding efforts in Putnam County. “Many of our FSBDC clients are looking for access to capital, and we have come to rely on 121 Financial Credit Union as the primary source of this funding in Putnam County,” Donaldson went on.

The partnership with 121 Financial and FSBDC at UNF is mutually valued. David Marovich, Chief Operating Officer at 121 Financial, believes collaboration is key to success. “The FSBDC at UNF provides a huge value to our small businesses; they provide a roadmap so when the business owner is ready for a loan, they are prepared. In fact, two recent Florida SBA award recipients were our members,” Marovich said.
